Hey Moms and Dads,

Would you hire a professional trainer for your six-year-old? Many parents are resorting to hiring professional trainers to help their children get whipped into shape. The question, is it worth it for around $95.00 per hour?

I say it is a good idea especially in a home where both parents are working and kids can't get outside to play during daylight hours. Remeber that trainers also offer good nutritional advice and kids for some reason will listen to others but not mom and dad.

What are your thoughts?

I think that getting a personal trainer for a kid is a bit much.  I mean, I want my kid to enjoy running around and playing on their own, not have a trainer whip them into doing it.  I have a feeling that playing outside would be less fun for kids after awhile if they have a trainer telling them what to do outside.

On the other hand, if a kid is severely overweight, I can understand why some parents will resort to this.  Only if the kid is unhealthy would I recommend this route.

On another note, it is always good for children to learn sound nutritional advice, although for younger kids, what they eat should be up to their parents.  They are just kids, I wouldn't want mine to start counting her calories at only 6.
