The Tooth Fairy Gave You HOW MUCH?

Recently, I was talking to a friend who told me that her son lost his first tooth!  Both her and her son were really excited.  She planned to do the whole tooth fairy thing and all, but when she asked another friend how much money the "tooth fairy" should give, she found out that some parents will give their children as high as $20 per tooth!

Man, oh man!  When I was a kid, I got a quarter under my pillow if I was lucky!  I guess things have changed since then.  So tell us what you think!  How much money do you give your kids?  Do you dish out more money for the first tooth than you do for any other?

Our tooth fairy surprises my son with something different every time.

He got a $2 bill one tooth.

Tokens to go play Pirate Mini Golf

Chuck e cheese tokens

gold dollars

something fun and different each time.

Sincerely,
Andrea Branagan

I think a dollar per tooth is decent or some kind of little prize.

$20 for a tooth is a good idea if the child is being taught to save the money.  I remember how it exciting it was to deposit my money into my piggy bank and then counting all the money when it was full.
